US real estate and investment firm Golub & Company has announced plans to build Chicago’s second tallest skyscraper, in partnership with CIM Group.
The 1,422-foot skyscraper will become part of a redevelopment project located on a parking lot East of Chicago’s Tribune Tower.
The building, which is currently unnamed, will be approximately 29 feet shorter than the city’s tallest existing building Willis Tower.
Golub’s executive vice president Lee Glub said the skyscraper will accommodate a 200-room hotel, 125 condominiums and 439 apartments across 11,000 square feet.
Construction work is expected to begin in early 2020, should the proposed project gain the relevant and necessary regulatory approval.
